 *As songwriters:** Women are also underrepresented as songwriters, although this has been improving in recent years. A 2022 study by the Berklee College of Music found that 14.4% of songwriters on the Billboard Hot 100 Year-End Chart were women, up from 11.1% in 2012.

 *As executives:** Women are also underrepresented in executive positions in the music industry. A 2021 study by the Women in Music organization found that only 22% of senior executives at major record labels were women.

Despite these challenges, women continue to make significant contributions to the music industry. There are many successful female artists, songwriters, and executives who are breaking down barriers and paving the way for other women in the industry.

 *Rihanna:** Rihanna is a Barbadian singer, songwriter, and businesswoman. She is one of the best-selling music artists of all time and has won 9 Grammy Awards.
